Some Movies

We went to dinner at friend's house tonight. Not much interesting there actually. And today we took down the Christmas tree and gave the upstairs a very thorough cleaning. We vacumed up about 50 pounds of pine needles. We got Ian a ride on yesterday and I raced him around the house some. He really liked it. I will take lots of pics tomorrow.

I have not put any movies on here lately so here are some for you all.

Polar Express: Really cool. Shoulda seen it in the theatre. Lots of wicked rides and fun adventures. Sometimes the animation looked really real and sometimes kinda creepy and fake but in a good way. The conductor was odd it was like a perfect animated Tom Hanks. There was way more to the story than the book had and Travis kept asking if this part was in the book and I had to keep telling him that the book had like 12 pages so they made a lot of it up.

40 Year Old Virgin: Really funny. Not what you expect from the ads. They make it seem like just another one of them comedies but it is really well written and the dialog is great. The characters are a little different and the story is not the same as all them movies either. I don't want to say how because I think it may spoil the movie.

The Island. Another good flick. It didn't get enough credit. It was pretty exciting and kinda scary because of how they treated the clones. It makes you think about what is really going on and what you are being told about what you are purchasing. It also makes you think about what you would do in certain situations, what is right or what is in your own best interests. But hey, I always like these types of movies anyway.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith: Not bad, kinda dull I thought. Nothing much happens that you don't expect. A little witty here and there but didn't really blow my socks off. A major waste of a good actor (Brad Pitt). But I bet Jennifer Aniston REALLY REALLY hates this movie. Ha ha ha ha!

All links are posted on the side. For those of you who haven't checked any of the movie links out yet, I put the official website up if there is one and if not then the link to that movie on IMDB. Which by the way is the best and most important of all movie web sites!

As I mentioned, I will get some pics of Ian up tomorrow, maybe Ian on his new ride on!

Success!

I managed to get Travis to go with us to the pool. He really didn't want to go and made me feel real bad about it but I didn't let up and I made him take us. Afterward he said he was glad he went and he had a lot of fun with Ian. I think I need a new bathing suit because I took a dive off the diving board and my top came off!! I noticed before I surfaced so at least I don't have to worry that someone saw my big mama boobies. Maybe I will get one of those athletic type bathing suits with the racer back. Nothing will get out of that baby! I also managed to swim 5 lenghts of the pool. I really need to exercise more. But it's a start anyway.

We are going to take down the old xmas tree tomorrow. It is shedding worse than I am. I vacume and vacume but still every time I put baby down on the floor he comes back up with a fist full of needles. They are soft needles but still. He might try to eat them.

Speaking of Ian eating green stuff, he had green peas today. I think he liked the taste but the texture was a bit tough for him. I blended it for a long time but it still had lots of bits of skins in it. Maybe I will mix it with a veggie he likes better tomorrow, like squash.

Something funny happened today. The tv was on and Ian was playing on the floor in front of it. Then the commercial for mcdonalds deli sandwiches comes on. The one where someone asks where the 2 chicks think the sandwich came from and then he says maybe this guy can tell you and suddenly Ronald McDonald shows up. Well as soon as Ronald McDonald showed up, Ian started screaming. No reason at all. He sounded like he does when he hurts himself. I don't know if he maybe pinched himself on a toy or something but it was pretty funny. But hopefully it doesn't happen again because he definitely doesn't need a fear of clowns!

Any hoo, here are some pictures of Ian in his new Prison. Mua hahahahaha.

Prison

Yes, we have imprisoned our child. What a great idea. We bought him a play pen. So now I can put him somewhere safe while I cook supper or whatever, and he has a bed to sleep in if we go somewhere. Best thing I ever got. We also picked up some safety latches for the cupboards and plastic plug in covers as well, and a battery charger so we can recharge the camera batteries instead of always buying AAA batteries. We also decided to keep the speakers I bought because they connect to the playstation and so now we have sort of a home theatre set up there. Not as good as a real home theatre but it sounds better now than just the tv.

I am gonna try to get Travis to take us swimming when he gets up. I had a dream last night I was swimming and it was a ton of fun. So I hope he will take us today. I will keep you updated. Until then, I better go feed Ian breakfast. More later!

Getting Ready to Party for New Years

Well we don't know what we are doing for new years yet. But it is all decorated here!

I am definitly Christmassed Out. I am ready to relax a bit and chill with my 2 mans for the next few days until time comes for the big day. Then I am going to buckle down for the winter.

We went to visit friends today. Nobody else came so it is a good thing we did because they made lots of food. Ian was really good. He never went to sleep but he was really good and stayed up until we left at 11:30. I bet I get to sleep in tomorrow!

No pics today though. And I need to get to bed. Maybe something fun will happen tomorrow. But hopefully not!

Merry Christmas Everyone

Wow, my kid got every single thing Fisher Price makes. Everything. I swear. It was crazy. He hated Christmas. By the third gift he was pretty upset. All the paper and things we were trying to show him just overwhelmed him I guess. He had three naps today. He actually dealt pretty well with all the people here. He was pretty happy for the most part.

Here is some of what Ian got for gifts:
A sled from Grandma and Grandpa D.
Peek a block dump truck and some extra peek a blocks from auntie and uncle
Extra roll around blocks from uncle
Work Bench with hammer from Grandma C
Mega blocks cement truck, vibrating singing cow, stacking rings, and elmo sub from Santa
Linking beads thingy from grandma C
awesome sea puppets from grandsma D
wooden train from and story book from zack
truck to build with power tool and bob the builder with a jackhammer from zack
Clothes
Various other items as well

Dinner went really well. The ham was teriffic. I had pineapples and cherries stuck all over it. Very delicious. Everybody had a really good time. While it was cooking I took Ian for a slide on the little slope between mine and the neighbor's houses. He sure liked that. He was giggling. He was hard to pull up the hill. Exercise is good for me so that was good. I took as many pics today as I could but he was squirmy sometimes and I am the only one who can make the camera work right. So here are the pics I did take

So Excited!

I am so looking forward to Christmas. I can't wait for Ian's first Christmas. Just to let everybody know, I will be broadcasting live Ian on MSN on Christmas Morning. So if you have MSN messenger set up you can watch. Of course, it will be pretty early here, but oh well. You all have the opportunity.

I picked up my purse today. Everything still there. Whew! Then I made my perogy dough and the scalloped potatoes. I just need to make the dough into perogies. Lousy job. I might have to do that tomorrow. We'll see.

I am very busy tomorrow, so probably no post. I will be sure to get one in on Christmas evening or Boxing Day morning with a ton of Ian Pictures. Until then, here is one to tide you over! It is a picture of why diaper changing is sometimes more trouble than it's worth!

RISK!

Travis will be murdered in his sleep sometime in the near future. He deserves it for what he did to me last night. We decided to play Risk. BIG mistake. I don't know why I always do that to myself. I actually thought I was doing pretty well for myself until all at once he gets like 30 guys on one turn and takes over the whole world. I was nice. I said Good Game and Well Done, but really I wanted to throw the board in his face. And make him pick up all the tiny little people off the floor. But I didn't. Because I am the master of self control, hahahaha.

I dozed off this morning. Another big mistake. Ian was playing with his toys and I just fell asleep. I woke up to a huge crash. I have a lamp that has plants on it on these little shelves. He pulled the whole thing over. I lost so much potting soil into the carpet I actually had to get more dirt today. So he's sitting there crying with dirt all over (I had no sympathy) and so I dust him off and put him by his toys again. I blocked him in with a chair so he wouldn't get in the dirt. Then I start fixing the plants. Somehow he got around the chair and behind my back without me even seeing and pulled the lamp over AGAIN!!! Luckily no plants on it yet. He wasn't hurt but my oh my was mama mad. Oooh. So mad. I did eventually get it cleaned up and gave him a hug. He felt better. I felt better. Then we had breakfast. Hopefully he learned a little today.

I have really awesome news today. I lost my purse. Almost a month ago. I looked every where for it. I was just going to start replacing all my id. Luckily my cards and money weren't in it but all my ID was. I was in denial for a long time but finally gave in yesterday and accepted that it was lost after looking in the car and the coat closet about a million times. I couldn't even remember when I had it last either. But suddenly today it dawned on me that I had it when I went to the movies with Travis for our anniversary. So I called the theatre. And they had it!!! Yay!!! I have awesome luck!!! Anyway, I have been hearing from Travis for weeks about how dumb I am and how I always lose everything so I don't need to hear it from anyone else. So there. But you can all be silently happy (or relieved) on my behalf.

Ian had his doctor appointment today. He was really good. Didn't even cry for his flu shot, just a little squeek. My little man. And he was good while we braved the crowds to go buy dirt too. So all is forgiven here. I even let him watch BoohBah today, his very favorite show. Here is a picture of Ian watching BoohBah. I don't usually let him stand like that at the TV but I let him just long enough for the photo op.

I'm Baked

I was so exhausted yesterday I couldn't post. I finished all my baking yesterday. It was fun but hard work. We got some really nice tins and bundled everything up for people coming for dinner. Tied with big bows. Lovely. Ian was pretty good yesterday. He had some long naps and we took him to the park. I forgot the camera again. He looked so cute swinging in the swing in his little snow suit with his cheeks all rosy from the cold. I will remember to bring the camera next time.

Today I have to make perogies. Then I guess I am done and can finally relax. Which is good because I am pretty tired. We rented 4 Brothers last night. I sorta dozed off half way through but when I went to bed I couldn't sleep. But I will be sure to go to bed early tonight.

Ian has a doctor appointment tomorrow. He is getting a flu shot. That should go over well. I'll let everybody know how it goes. Hope everybody is having a good holiday so far. I will put some pictures tomorrow. Until then, drive safe!

(editor's note: I really like the posts with no pictures, lol)

Taters. I am obsessed with the taters.

Ok, I changed my tunes. I hope you all like it. I wanted to put Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer but I couldn't find the version I wanted small enough to put on here. So I went with this.

In other news, we picked up our xmas ham today. Big sucker too. And some good lookin potatoes. I love potatoes. I am going to make perogies and mash potatoes. I love Christmas dinner. I am so excited. I know I keep mentioning it but I can't help it I really do love Christmas dinner. I can't wait!

I have to do some wrapping and I STILL have a bunch of cards to send. So folks, if you haven't got one from me yet, just hold tight. Maybe for new year's. Ha ha ha.

Well Degrassi tonight. So I must run. You all have fun. Sorry no pic today!

Holy Evil Baby, Batman

Oh. My. God! Don't even get me started on this child today. I think he decided to whine at about 10am this morning and hardly let up throughout the day. Travis tried to keep him for me so I could do my baking but Ian was whining so much he lost his patience and put him down, so he kept crawling in and clinging to my legs whining. I gave him a cookie and that helped for a bit but then he went straight back to whining. I don't know how I made it through the day but let me tell you 7pm could not come fast enough.

He has developed a really cute habit. If you shake your head at him, he shakes his back, it is really cute. Except when you are feeding him, I guess.

Well, I am sure you are all wondering, Travis and I had a really nice time at the ship dinner and dance. We got all dressed up and we looked pretty spiffy if I do say so myself. I had a few drinks . Just enough I think. I didn't feel too bad yesterday. Travis let me sleep in. That was nice of him. We relaxed with movies all day on the couch. It was nice. Today I did manage to get a start on my baking. I made popcorn toffee balls and shortbread. I bought these cookie presses at a yard sale in the summer. They are these little plastic discs and you take the shortbread and roll it into a ball then press it with the presses and it prints a holiday picture on the cookie. So I have really pretty cookies. I decorated them with green and red cherries and silver and gold dragees. They look really nice. I still have a lot to do, I want to make gingersnaps and butter tarts and peanut butter nanaimo bars and maybe some oatmeal raisin cookies too. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. Hopefully Ian is more laid back tomorrow and I can actually get something done.

So my photos today are Trav and I dressed up for the party on Friday and Ian "helping" with the dishes in one of his rare good moods.
(editor's note, old blog let me turn the pictures. I can't figure it out on this blog.)

Snow My @$$

Wow, this sucks. I hate snow. The snow is about a foot deep this morning and the wind has blasted it into glacier-like consistency. I tried shoveling but to no avail. I barely got the top of the steps cleared. Ian HATES it out there so I had to come back in. I take back everything nice I ever said about snow, and I am now planning a move back into an apartment. Ok, not the last thing. Have a look at my deck this morning: I'ts making me edit this because of LANGUAGE

Tons of Pictures

I couldn't find the phone today. I pushed the button on the base and then walked around the living room in circles looking for it. I checked the couch cushions, behind the tree, behind the tv, in the love seat. Round and round I went. It sounded like it was behind me. No matter where I was, it was behind me. Because it was under the coffee table. I'm such a tool.

I gave Ian sweet potatoes yesterday. He didn't like it much. He didn't hate it as much as carrots though either. Just a dirty look. He has this tree house toy. It is his favorite toy. It has these balls that you drop in the top and it rolls down and spins on these discs for a few seconds while really annoying music plays. Only in the last few days the music has begun to sound belaboured. I guess it is time to change the batteries.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Ship Christmas party tomorrow where we need to find something to wear. Ack! And then I guess I will get my baking started on Sunday. I might be able to make it wait till later in the week though, since Travis will be home and I can do it during the day without distractions.

We got most of the Christmas cards out today. Finally. I bought them in November thinking I was getting ahead of things, and did half of them in one night, then got so burned out that I didn't touch them again until today when it was the last minute. I just kept moving the pile to different locations in the house. I am such a dweeb. I have to be more careful with that now, however, because Ian is always into stuff and the places I can put things is swiftly dwindling. Today I caught him sucking on a butt cloth. It was in the dirty laundry and I had turned my back for a second and there he was sucking away. Luckily it was a pee butt cloth and not a poo butt cloth.

Well that's the news for today. I have watched a few movies lately which I will mention in the next day or 2. Until then, here are some pics today. I have Ian toddling around the coffee table and some of him trying to destroy his room. Then one of him being a sucky baby. And one of him looking up to his dad (preceded by a yoga position.

Napping Away

Well Travis came home yesterday. He was quite impressed with Ian's crawling skills. We actually didn't do much, just hung out mostly. It is nice to know he is here for a good while now.

I am composing a detailed list for my christmas dinner shopping. We will be having 10 people here counting Ian. I am gonna bake cookies and butter tarts and for dinner I am making ham, perogies and potatoes. Other people are bringing dessert and veggies. I don't know where everybody is going to sit, though! I am really looking forward to Christmas this year. I will take tons of pics for everybody!

Well, like I said, not much going on here today. Ian is napping. Here he is napping on the couch:

Just Checkin In

I feel so lousy today. I am pretty sick and then all that shoveling didn't help. A couple we're friends with their power went out so they came and stayed with me. He helped shovel the snow which was nice. But I am still pretty tired. It's pouring rain today so maybe what didn't get shovelled will be rinsed away. I don't have much to say today. Travis is coming home early, he will be here tomorrow afternoon. So tomorrow night I will write a great big post with lots of pictures. Until then, Have a Great Day!

Let it Snow!

Snowing like mad here tonight. The weather channel kept saying 3-5 cm of snow and as of right now I have about 6 inches! And stupid head Travis had to be gone. He keeps getting out of snow shoveling. I had friends over for dinner and they left early because the snow was making for unsafe driving.

Today this creepy old guy shows up at my house wanting me to call a cab for him. He said he just moved in across the street and has no phone. Then he says to tell it to go to #45! Well my friend across the street (the one who gives me stuff, ha ha) HAS a phone and HAS NOT just moved in. Then the guy goes across the street and walks behind her house. So she is usually gone on Friday mornings with her kids, so she wasn't home at the time. So the cab comes and takes the guy away. Which is good because I am watching her house like a hawk in case she comes home to find some murderer slash child molester hiding in her house. I think, "well he's gone but maybe he robbed them!" so I continue watching the house to see when she gets home.

So finally she gets home and I grab Ian and go dashing across the road to let her know of the intruder. Turns out it is a boarder she has! He stays in the basement and can only get in from the back! And he hasn't hooked himself up a phone yet! And he is gone lots that's why I never saw him before! And she laughed her butt off at me!

She did say thanks though, for my vigilance, and invited me in for pineapple. So it wasn't a total loss.

Here's the snow on my back deck:

EW

Here is my conversation with Ian today when I undressed him for his bath:

"Here honey, I'm gonna give you a bath. Whew, you stink! Let's see what you got there. Ew, it's all over...NO! don't grab that! ew, now I need to wipe your hands where are the wipes, OH NO DON'T RUB YOUR EYES? NO BABY DON'T CRY! I know it's in your eye but WAIT DON'T SUCK YOUR THUMB THAT'S SO GROSS!"

Well, that was fun.

In other news, I went on a cleaning rampage today. As I believe I mentioned, I had a leaky pipe the other day so everything was pulled out from under the stairs. I wanted to put it back but even though the water was gone the floor was pretty gross. And the water from the floor was still in the mop pail. So I dumped that out. Then I had to wash the pail and the mop because the kitty litter is under there and it was all mixed in with the water and since I use that mop in the kitchen where Ian frequently eats toast off the floor, I figured I better wash it. Then I figured I better scoop the cat box while I was in there anyway. But you know, I don't remember the last time I actually cleaned the cat box, and the tub was dirty already from cleaning the bucket so after I emptied the cat box I took it and cleaned it out really good in the tub. And then I let it dry and took out the kitty litter. Well it's pretty cold out so I figured I might as well get it all done at once so I took out all the garbages in the house. And the green bin too, which needed cleaning so I cleaned that.

Then I went back downstairs, and well it was kinda sticky under the cat box so I wiped that up with paper towel and then refilled the cat box. But I needed the floor to dry so I could sweep up the loose cat litter and then give the floor a good mopping before I could put all the stuff back in there. So while I waited I figured I better clean the tub since it was gross from cat litter. So I cleaned the tub. And if I cleaned the tub, I might as well do the whole bathroom. And if I do that bathroom I might as well do the other one too. And well, I cleaned the mirrors so I might as well continue on and do the windows.

By now I was worried about Ian waking up and I didn't want to touch him after handling the kitty litter, so I took a shower. Then I had lunch. Then I was going to mop but well no point in making the mop gross again without getting something out of it so I went upstairs and vacumed and mopped the kitchen, and the bathroom, then I did the landing, then the downstairs bathroom and laundry room THEN I finally got around to the storage room. I put the mop away and well I was so tired I never did put the stuff back under the stairs!

Now that I have finished writing such a long and boring story, here is a picture. Not Ian, We've all seen enough of Ian. Here's a picture of me. I already sent it to Jenni who assures me I look like a dork. Yay! A dream come true!

Have a Beer

I hope everybody likes the new tunes today. I was ready for something different. Plus I did figure out how to put a video on here but I can only do it if I take away the music so I will have to wait a while for that. Maybe for the new year.

I cooked squash today. I had to look it up on the internet to see how to do it because i cooked it for Ian. The only way I knew how to do it wasn't good for baby food. Anyway, he really liked it, he gobbled it all up. Of course there is lots of leftovers so I placed some in ice cube trays and when it is frozen I will put it in a ziploc bag for easy access. I think I am gonna try something different with the carrots too... I had pureed them in my mini food processor and I think that was the problem with the texture. I am gonna try again tomorrow using the big food processor, maybe it has more power or something and will make a texture that is more appealing to the baby-o.

Here are a few pics from yesterday and today. I took the picture of him sleeping just now in the pitch dark and luckily the flash didn't wake him up!
