Forgot the camera....TWICE!

Despite the previous post, it has actually been pretty nice around here. Springlike, in fact. On Saturday, we had a picnic in Shubie Park. It was a little nippy out but not unpleasant. Most of the path was still iced over, but there were squirrels and chipmunks out and about already. We had the unique experience of feeding chickadees right out of our hands! One of them even landed on Travis's shoulder. Quite amazing. I was, of course, kicking myself for forgetting the camera.

On Sunday, we went to an Easter Party. They needed a volunteer to man the Bunny Suit so of course I stepped up to the plate. Ian figured it out because of my sneakers. Clever boy. Guess what I forgot to bring... You guessed it... the camera.

I have to start keeping it in my pocket with my phone and chapstick.

As you all can see, I have updated the place a little bit. I haven't been happy with the way things look around here, but I am too cheap to buy Photoshop, and my knowledge of HTML is, shall we say, limited. But I found a free banner website today, so I was at least able to dress it up a little. Let me know what you think!

I have been doing tons of knitting but I need to take pictures, so hopefully a post about that shall be forthcoming soon. In the mean time, please subscribe, I added a link! It will be much easier than checking back here all the time, especially as I am very unreliable.

Cheerful despite it all. That's my boy!

Ian sees the world through rose-coloured eyes

I sat the boy down for breakfast this morning and noticed something a little... off. His eyes looked a bit red. Well, a lot red. (the shade of this blog or thereabouts) (Also, the second I thought it might be infectious my own eyes started itching) So I had to keep him home from preschool. I took him to the walk-in clinic, and was thereby advised that he does indeed have the Dreaded Pinkeye. (I only have psychosomatic pinkeye)

We were given a prescription for eyedrops, and we went to the drugstore to pick it up. We had to wait for it for 20 minutes, most of which Ian spent advising strangers that his Mommy and Daddy think he has a pink and red eye.

Sigh.

I took a picture:

He wouldn't hold still, and the pink eyes didn't really show up. So I digitally enhanced it:

pinkeye 1

Then I found out the hard way that he can shoot lasers out of his eyes:

pinkeye 2

Hopefully the eyedrops will help both conditions.

Maybe I am just a little too uptight.

I don't think Jason Mraz knows what "godforsaken" means. "Godforsaken" means basically that God doesn't want it, so it is horrible, unwanted, and wretched. As in "I feel sorry for my sister living in a godforsaken northern wasteland."

I like this song. I really really do. But seriously? Every time I hear this I want to stick a knitting needle through my speakers.

He needs to find his godforsaken dictionary.

(anyway, I am sure he did his bestest)

Epic Mom Fail

I took Ian to the pool yesterday. We went all the way out to Spryfield to swim in the (weak) wave pool. Ian had a great time.

Sadly I forgot his swimming trunks. I decided to let him stay in his undies instead. They were pale blue cotton undies. We were having a high old time in the waves, then he noticed the slide. He swam like mad to the ladder, climbed to the top, and ran to the slide. That's when I noticed it.... His undies were practically clear.

All I can say is thank goodness for Lighting McQueen. He was very...strategically placed.
