Songs with Fake Lyrics

Something fun to listen to while I talk:

Lyrics Here

I have a long history of redoing songs with fake lyrics. Here is a current favourite:

(to the tune of Backstreet's Back)

Bath Time's Back

Everybody

(yah yah)

Wash your body

(yah yah)

Everybody

Wash your body right.

Back and front tonight!

Now everybody everywhere

Scrub your feet and wash your hair.

When you're in the tub then say it right!

As long as there are bubbles we'll be getting clean tonight!

More costume changes than Britney

So my kid is some kind of Diva. He wakes up in the morning and dresses himself. He does it quietly so I don't wake up and put a stop to it. His clothes never match, and at least 3 of the following 5 are true: 1. Backwards shirt 2. Backwards underwear 3. Backwards pants (my personal favourite) 4. One or both socks upside down 5. One sock inside out (because of how they are rolled together, when you pull them apart one is always inside out)

In addition to this, he likes to change his clothes every time 1. He gets a speck of something on any item of clothing 2. He goes to the bathroom 3. He walks by his room. 4. He just feels like it.

And he doesn't change just one thing... No, he changes every single item he's wearing, down to the underwear. And worst of all, he doesn't just take the clothes from the shelf, he digs around, pulls it all out and picks what he wants. And since I yelled at him a couple times for scattering his clothing all over his room, he started putting it back. Meaning that the shelf is stuffed with random bunched up clothing all the time.

Fun!

I also got around to knitting something. Have a gander at this cutie:

I made this for Lillian's second birthday. The pattern is from here. (I modified it a bit to fit a little girl and left off the fringe. I cast on 40 st and used 6mm circs, and switched to longer ones when it started getting too big.) The pink yarn is Bernat Ping Pong in Pink Power and the purple (it is purple, it looks a little grey in the pic) is Bernat Lux Effects in Mauve Effects. (no link apparently) It took 2 balls of the pink and about 2 1/3 balls of the purple. The yarn was from my stash, (courtesy of Melissa)
I have also posted a bunch of pics to my Facebook. I will put links up top for those who aren't on there.
It's raining today, so we will be hunkering down for the afternoon. Maybe I will think of something else to knit!

Random Idiocy of the Day

This is just sad. I guess Peter Jackson didn't pay him enough.

But you know, it was forseen....

Time is flying

I think it is just starting to hit me that Travis is leaving for so long. He leaves on Saturday and will be gone until the end of the October. Which means he won't see green leaves in Canada this year. Basically my next family outing with my whole little family will be pumpkin shopping in the Valley. So I think we should do something fun today. I think we will go play Mini Golf. We can bring Travis's camera to take pictures.

Because I still can't find mine.

Electronics update

I recieved my new computer on Friday! Yay! Here it is:

Pretty fancy-schmancy, eh?

(I'm in way over my head with this thing)

Any hoo, I have been very busy with it, I had to move all my files from the old computer to the new one. We lost some music, it seems. Nothing too major. I am pretty sure I have all my pictures, which is more important after all. I used Travis's camera to move files, as it has a 2G memory stick. It took about 10 trips. I got everything set up and then I moved the old computer in the kitchen and installed Windows XP on it. I was running Windows 2000 professional, and it wasn't upgradable, so I had to format the hard drive. I am going to get some little kid computer games so Ian can play on the old computer. Or maybe I will just sell it, its not too bad of a computer, just a little finicky. It was good to us, though.

I uploaded all my pics from the last few months into this computer. I still have to decide what to do with them. Probably Facebook albums and links. Unfortunately, I have not seen my camera since I did that. I have searched high and low, up and down. Everything was in a pretty bad mess for a while while I sorted things out, but I am starting to get things organised. And yet, no camera. It is really frustrating. I was sure I put it on the bookshelf when I was done but it is not there. Argh.

The new computer plays HD-DVD as well as Blu-Ray disks, so we rented Harry Potter on Blu-Ray and hauled the love seat over to watch it. Although I definitely notice a difference in quality between the old computer and this one, and even between the TV and the computer, I don't really see much difference between Blu-Ray and DVD. And I had to go through this whole crazy process to get the Blu-Ray disk to play in the player. Apparently it is some kind of known issue with Windows Vista.

So suffice it to say, I have got zero knitting done in the last week. Also I forgot to take pictures of the brown socks when finished. And they are in the mail now. Geeze.

I don't know how much knitting I will be getting done in the near future, either, as Ian is barfy right now. He has puked right before dinner two days in a row, and last night he barfed in bed. He is on Upset Tummy diet right now. (He's happy, he got to have ginger ale... he almost never gets any pop....I usually only let him have some at the movies.)

So that is the current update here. Everybody wish me luck in finding my camera... I haven't gone anywhere. It has to be around here somewhere....

Y!

I am waiting for a new computer to arrive. Today I recieved a monitor. Since that is 33% of the parcels I am expecting, I am 33% excited! So I will shout out 33% of a yay.

Y!

Yah, that was pretty lame.

Last night we went to the briefing for the families of the deploying CF members. For those who don't already know, Travis is sailing a week from Saturday and will be home some time in late October. So all these big plans I have for the summer? All me baby. Yep, I'm a tough one. I get to mow the lawn and stain the deck and take the car in for repairs. This period is also going to cover all three birthdays in our family, Mother's day, Father's day, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Natal Day, Labour Day, and Thanksgiving. And of course, I was gone over Easter. So we've been having tons of togetherness lately. Yay!

I guess I will be doing a lot of knitting.

Something to Grouse About

So Adrienne saw a grouse in her yard. She even took a picture. (Her pic is on Facebook, not her blog.)

I have to admit, I was jealous. All I ever see are crows. Today while I was making supper I opened the door so Ian could play on the deck. All of a sudden I heard squacking, and Ian started shouting "Stop it, bird!" So I came out to see what he was yelling at and I saw this:

Yep. That is a great big pheasant. It was up at the top of my yard. Well, technically, the yard next door.

It must be that time of year. Here are a few more pics! (Plus I added a picture of a pheasant from the internet so you could see what it looked like up close)

Q and A

Well I have enough comments to do a Q and A. Ok, so not really but I thought I would address some concerns I have with the comments today.

First off, I am not pregnant. Geeze. I was coughing and had a sore throat. You know. Flu. Not like barfing and stuff. I would have said stomach flu. Or a tummy ache. But anyway, based on last time, I didn't even feel sick at all. Just hungry. So no, not pregnant.

Which brings me to the other comment I wanted to address. Someone wrote "Oh my God, I hope you are dude!!"

WTF? A dude???? Did you read the description at the top???? I am a MOTHER and a KNITTER. Not that men can't knit, and apparently they can now all of a sudden become mothers, but seriously. Any dude that is both a mother and a knitter may as well not have bothered with the sex change.

Anyway, so if the person who wrote that is still reading, how about some further comments? Why do you hope I am a dude?

Just out of curiosity.

Soo Tired

I am really run down feeling today. I think it is this flu. Although it is starting to wear off, I have absolutely no energy. I need to get a lot of things done (including uploading my pictures) Oh wait. Never mind. I said I was going to wait until the new computer gets here. Ok. Sounds good.

I finished a dishcloth today. It is a different pattern. I will take a picture later too I guess. Otherwise, no knitting. I did take Ian to the park today. I think he had a good time. It was seemingly nice out but the wind had a bit of a vicious bite to it, so we didn't stay long. And that's about it. Blah.

I am just melancholy today, I guess. I feel like I am waiting for something to happen. Weird.

Anyway. I would love to put more in here today but I am fresh out of ideas.
