Regarding the Wallpaper

Try it! The raspberries taste like raspberries! The cherries taste like cherries! The strawberries taste like strawberries! The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!

Poor Kitty

Let me tell you what happened to my cat....
I went into the spare room to iron my pants for work yesterday morning and then shut the door (I leave it shut and the heat off most of the time) Then I went to work. Then I came home, put Ian to bed, had supper, went to bed. Then I got up this morning, had a shower, and went to give Ian breakfast. That's when I noticed the cat's food hadn't been touched since the morning before...
Guess where she was for 24 hours....

In the dark...

In the cold...

No food...

No water...

No litter box...

Luckily, no harm done. She wolfed her breakfast (is that the right word for a cat gobbling? Maybe I should say she "tigered" her breakfast?) Then she proceeded to vomit it all back up again. Since then, fine. Super cuddly, but fine. And those of you who have met my cat know that if she is cuddly, she must have been lonely!

Teeth

Well someone here is teething. And guess what... it's not Ian. I have a wisdom tooth coming in. So Ian and I can go through it together. Maybe it's happening to help me empathize with my baby. Who knows. I spent a great deal of time this summer having my teeth filled and the dentist advised me to have the wisdom teeth removed. I only have one so far that is in but he said to get them all pulled because they are a risk for abcessing. I was referred to an oral surgeon and had an appointment and everything. I didn't go. Part of the reason is because I did have so much work done all ready that I wasn't sure my benefits would cover it. But that was just an excuse. Really, the reason is that I am extremely terrified of having general anesthesia and surgery. What if the anesthesia doesn't work? What if I don't wake up? I shudder to think.

But now as my jaw begins to throb and sting, I am starting to regret that decision...

Sorry folks.

I just wrote a whole blog entry and then when I tried to add photos internet explorer froze up. So I am too tired to type it again. But suffice it to say, work sucks, weather sucks, Ian is having a great time at daycare. He doesn't miss me at all which also sucks. I have a lot fewer hours in the days now, I will try to leave a short note here and there in the week and on the weekends I will try to get a great long post up with photos and everything. So sorry foks, we are about to experience a quality drop here!

I took some pictures of Ian at the park on Saturday, so here they are. Hope they tide you over!

I meant for just one of the first picture but now I can't delete them!

Oh, well I guess I can! Woo hoo!

Meat in the Mail!

Yeppers, nothing on this great green earth quite beats meat in the mail. I sure love getting meat in the mail. Not a day goes by when I don't say to myself: "I sure could use some meat in the mail" Yep, good ol, meat in the mail. A little meat in the mail never hurt anybody.

In case you haven't guessed already, I recieved meat in the mail today. (Thanks Mom and Dad)

So I am sitting hear eating my mail meat (hahaha) wondering what to write. And it occurs to me to explain to everybody about my kitchen floor. It's huge. And dirty. It's not that I don't clean it, it's just that I have a baby. I clean it all the time but the very next day there is something new littering the whole walking surface. I have yet to discover an effective cleaning solution that appeals to my basic incompatibilty with housework. I think a dog would be the solution, but then I have to take care of poopy so I guess that won't work. Alas.

To make things worse, I started giving Ian cheerios as a snack. He sure loves to chase those things around with his little fat baby fingers and stick them in his mouth. But the first thing he does when I dump a handful on his tray is smack them so they scatter around the kitchen floor. Maybe I should stick to baby food. At least that only gets on his hands!

I went to an orientation meeting today for the SPCA. I thought it might be fun to do some volunteer work. I won't have time for much but I figure i need a hobby. I can't just go to work and take care of Ian. I need something that I want to do that isn't a waste of time or money. So I think volunteer work is the answer. They should call me soon for a tour of the facility and then I can pretty much come and go as I please. They need people to cuddle cats, walk dogs, clean up, do repairs and maintenence, help with office work, work booths at malls and stuff, and visit schools and things like that. So I don't mind doing any of that. It would be great to get my mind off of problems.

No pic today, sorry. I have to download and save my camera tomorrow, so probably no pics then either, but I will be taking Ian somewhere fun on Sunday probably, so I will try to get a pic in then. Then back to work on Monday!

I've run out of ways to say "I'm Lazy" for my Post Title

So as long as you know I am lazy, then expectations are low and nobody gets disappointed. Especially regarding housework. I do the bare minimum around here you know. It is mostly cleaning up BEFORE Ian rather than cleaning up after him. Anyhoo, if you come by, it might be messy. So there. don't say I didn't warn you.

Now, that is the only drawback to visiting me. I know the Grandma's have got a Hankerin' for some Spankerin'... after all that kid needs a good whack. Just kidding. But you Grandma's really should come visit because both the little man and I would really love to see you both. He is so cute. And friendly. And he smiles. And bites. Ok, the last one, not so much. But wouldn't you like to cuddle a pudgy little puddin? I know he wants some granny spoilin. He's definitly due. (And I could use a break as well.) So Grandma's unite! Come visit the baby-o! You know you want to! And West Jet has some Massive Seat Sales right now! In fact I would like to extend the invitation to any Aunties or Uncles who have not been here yet. You know who you are. You can get a round trip ticket for about $512! Don't wait any longer! Click here! http://c3dsp.westjet.com/guest/home.shtml?language=EN And I will make a nice dinner and pick you up at the airport! With Ian! He promises not to poop until the next day! (ok I can't back that up)

And as an added bonus, when you come visit, I will finally let the cat out so she won't attack you in your sleep! Looks like she really wants out, don't keep her waiting!

I lost the Camera!!!!!!!

Ok, I really didn't lose the camera. That is just an excuse. I really mean to take a picture but when something happens I am where the camera isn't. And when we are at home he just does the same old stuff. I mean he's cute and all but really. How far does cute get you these days? But trust me folks, he still pretty much looks the same.

Ian and I went for dinner at a friend's house today. (My friend not Ian's). We had a lot of fun. We had roast chicken and veggies and she put apples in with the veggies. Very cool Idea and now I really want to try that with a pork roast. mmm. It is actually a pretty good place to take Ian because she has lots of open space with laminate floors so he can scoot all over. We even left with a door prize! She gave us her old blender. Now we can blend blend blend! That's the key you know. Blending. She actually has one of those kick ass expensive blenders that doubles as a food processor. So she had the old one taking up space and I had mentioned that mine sucks and won't crush ice so she just gave me the old one. Suh-weet. I guess I do have an inspiration for a picture after all!

Ian of course needed a Diaper Change shortly before we left, so I of course before I left I congratulated her because now she can officially say that someone has pooped in her living room. So until tomorrow, here is a picture of my new kitchen appliance.

Hurts so Good

I bought a pineapple at the store yesterday. Why do pineapples have to be so good and yet cause so much pain? My mouth, gums tongue and cheeks hurt from its painful sweetness. Even my teeth hurt. Damn pineapples. It's the devil's fruit I tell ya.

I'm Lazy. Nothing new there. Well at least I am having a nice time being lazy. I spent all day today lounging around in my jammies. Ian is wearing jammies too. we cuddled and played with toys. I feel quite un-energetic. I think I will have a bath and go to bed early as I am so worn out from my laziness.

I did have a busy couple days though. Monday I took Ian to the park in his little sled. It snowed a couple inches and so we had a nice time sledding there. Ian swinged on the swings again. He really likes that. I forgot the camera. Again. Sorry.

It rained all that night so all the snow disappeared. Stupid weather. Yesterday Ian and I went to the library and then the grocery store. We had company for dinner too which was nice. It's always good to have someone to chill with. So after those 2 busy days I felt justified in chillin today.

I don't have a pic for today because since nothing new happens here the only thing I have to take pictures of is Ian's Swath of Destruction. But hopefully I will remember the camera next time I go out.

Did he fix it? Yes he did!

Travis fixed the stuff today! Yay! I was pretty happy. He thinks I was ungrateful because I asked him to load the dishwasher after supper but I am not. Because I could have fixed all that stuff myself but it is man work.

I have to drop him off at the ship tomorrow and he is sailing for a month. Good Riddance! Just kidding. We'll have fun here, Ian and I. For 2 more weeks. I will probably be starting back at my super lousy job of death in about 2 weeks. I hope I like it. I know I won't. Dammit. Well I better go, I'm making hot chocolate. With Whip Cream. I am such a piggy.

Here is a picture I like today, stolen from my sister's blog:

Never mind. It won't upload for some reason. Jerks. You hear me? MSN is Jerks!!

Can He Fix It? Yes He Can!!

Ian decided to climb the filing cabinet. The front of the drawer came off. Files everywhere. Like I don't have enough trouble keeping track of all the papers around here without that. Sigh. There is a light burnt out in the downstairs hallway. The door fell off Ian's change table. The baby gate needs bolstering. Baby proof clips need to be installed on the cabinets.

Looks like Trav is going to be doing some handy man work this weekend, mwaa ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Travis also promised to take Ian and I swimming tomorrow. That would be fun. He is sailing on Monday so we need to have those last few minutes of quality time together before he leaves me to chase the devil (Ian) all day by myself. It almost makes me WANT to go back to work so I can get a break.

I will probably be going back soon anyway, likely even before Travis returns. Alas. Life sucks. Being a mommy has been so fun, too. You know what really sucks? West jet is having a seat sale right now and I could go visit for the whole time Trav is gone for a mere $578.15. And I can't. So frustrating. Alas and alack.

Anyhoo, I know all of you are dying to visit me this spring/summer/fall so I guess I can be patient until then. So in the meantime here is a picture of me holding Ian. It looks like I am cuddling him but actually I am preventing any movement and the destruction that inevitably results.

Squish Squash

Wow, I am way behind here. I want to say I have been busy but actually just lazy. I wasn't feeling "well" on New Years Day. We had such a good time the night before. We went for Japanese dinner and then drinks at the fleet club. I had to get up early with Ian the next morning too. 2006 did not begin well!

Monday we had friends over for dinner. We made Mexican food, enchiladas and tacos and salsa and guacamole. Yum. I have been eating leftovers ever since. I gave Ian some plain avocado and he seemed to like that. Not the kind of food I can make loads of baby food with, though. Yesterday Travis was duty and I did about seventy loads of laundry. I was so far behind it was silly!

As for today, well I was feeding Ian his lunch and I got to thinking, when is a kid old enough to feed himself?? Well, I figured today was as good a day as any so I handed him his spoon and dish and let him have at er. I was chiseling squash and pablum off him for the rest of the day.

I have changed the background again, it is because now that the holidays are over I am ready for winter to be over too. So hopefully the theme gets nice weather in the mood to return. I'l find some good summer tunes too.

Tomorrow Travis and I are doing good deeds. Travis is helping his uncle move a fridge or something. I am going to watch one of my neighbor's kids for her while she takes the other to the doctor. So hopefully that goes well. Until tomorrow, here are some pics of Ian on his ride on and also Ian coated in squash. I know what you are thinking...more pics of Ian eating? Geez!! Well it's my blog so you can just shut yo mouf. I also have the ever popular picture of Ian being naughty. But it's hard these days to get a picture of him not being naughty!!
