Yah, I know I am a terrible terrible blogger but I have many many excuses. The first is visitors. We have had a number of visitors already this summer. Trav's grandparents stayed for a bit, and then my sister came for almost 2 weeks (shout out to Jenni) And I have been working extra hours where I can to make up for it. Weekends are spent on housework and summery activities like swimming and beach-going. I have also had the drama of losing my purse and guess what was in my purse... my digital camera. Sucks to be me. Trav is pretty mad at me for that but I deserve it for losing my stuff. I have replaced my ID and bank stuff and luckily my birth certificates etc were all in the filing cabinet, but alas, no hope for a new camera. I still have the Kodak Advantix which is ok I guess, I can record the Important Moments In Our Lives, but no pics, sadly. Now you all know what to get me for Christmas I guess.
Ian is the biggest water freak in the world. Luckily a trip to Queensland beach taught him a little caution. Every time we take him to any beach he runs right for the water and gets mad when you take him out, but getting knocked down a few times by icy waves of salt water cured him of that! Now he waits for me to go in the water. We took him to the pool on Sunday instead of the beach, and he waited for me before going in! I was so glad, it was much easier. He goes in face first, he isn't scared at all. I am very proud of him.
Summer TV is going ok. Sheldon was booted from Canadian Idol before the top 10, sadly, but he's definitely the most famous person in our Graduating Class! I am now fully behind Rob James. You go buddy! Wait a minute, he just sang. Meh. You should see out by Lawrencetown/Chezzetcook area. Nothing but Vote Chad signs in everybody's yard. I hate that guy. He is so smarmy looking. In Big Brother news, I am so glad all my faves made it in. I want Janelle to win but I love Will for his pure entertainment value. That dude is in control. I also have a Secret Crush on James. Travis thinks he looks shifty but I think he's kinda cute. I hope Erica goes this week because I hate under the radar players.
The rolling stones are coming to Halifax and Travis really wants to go. I don't think we will be able to swing it, though. Oh well. Such is life.
In other Ian news, he sure is a little chatty pants. He says Ana (banana) and tsis (cheese, or shoes, depending on circumstances) eee (kitty) yah (yah) and buh buh (boohbah, oddly enough. it does not mean bottle or big bite. it means boohbah. one of my kid's first words is a TV show. Sigh.
Well I wish I had pics for you all but sadly, I have none. Until the next time (hopefully soon) see ya later, alligators!

Happy Trails (through the bathroom)
I saw an ant in the bathroom a few weeks ago. I said, EW and stomped it so it wouldn't bring its friends. Well, I think they found out and are getting their revenge! I have a trail of ants in the bathroom/laundry room and no clue or idea how they are getting in. I put down ant poison and am keeping the door closed to keep Ian and the cat out but since I put the stuff there now I have even more ants! I guess it must take some time for the ants to take the poison to their nest or whatever but in the meantime I hate going in there. And I have to have a shower later! Ew! Here are some pics:

What's buzzin, cuzzin?
For those of you in the know, Ian had a new cousin, Lillian, who was born exactly one month before Ian turned one, on April 24! And what an angel! I have been quite lax in posting my pics of the little gal, so here she is!

Ian's Party Part II
Well that went ok. Ian was a good boy for the most part. He recieved some great gifts. He got a sand and water table from his babysitter and my other neighbor, a bubble mower and some un-messy finger paints from Zack, a wagon full of Mega Blocks from Auntie and Uncle and new Cousin, some mega blocks and a tiger from Grandma and Grandpa Nelson a tractor from Dad, and a set of swim pants, aqua socks and a tonka hat from Mom, as well as a wagon full of beach toys from both Dad and Mom! What a haul! Thanks everybody!
After presents, Ian had cake and Ice Cream. He has had tastes of ice cream before but never a whole scoop all to himself on a plate! He tried to stick the whole thing in his mouth and it hurt his head! Poor guy! Mommy had to cuddle him until he felt better and so she ended up stickier than he did!
I have taken lots of pics for all of you who couldn't make it! Enjoy!

Alas and Alack!
We've definitely been very busy here lately. Most week days involve rushing from here to there, making supper and putting Ian to bed. He's usually very good but some times he is the devil. Also, we have been having some very nice weekends so we have been spending our spare time enjoying each other and the nice weather. We have been to the farmer's market, the beach, the park, and the Cult Ice Cream Store (don't ask).
Ian always likes the farmers market, despite the crowds. Probably because I am always feeding him cheese while we're there. That kid loves cheese let me tell you! I gave up trying to lug him around the place in a sling, and started bringing the umbrella stroller. If anybody here has ever been to the Halifax Farmers Market in the Keiths Brewery, you would understand why I am hesitant to bring a stroller!
I took Ian to Kearney Lake last weekend (the 8th). He sure loves sand and water! He headed straight for the lake and sat down. This was bad because he was wearing jeans and sneakers at the time. I managed to haul him out of the water before he ate the gravel on the bottome (not that it would be the first gravel in his diet...you would think he was a parakeet!) But as soon as we got on dry land he sat in the sand. Blech. So I found a picnic table to change him at. I had a change of clothing but Alas! No diapers! So I wrapped his butt in a recieving blanket and prayed the whole way home that there would be no accidents.
Last weekend was great! We got a lot of yard work done, we pulled up 2 of the 3 junipers in the front yard. Now I only have a lonely ball of cedar sitting there, offending my sight every time I look out the window. We also mowed the lawn, and debated placing a flower bed along the side of the driveway. We then drove out to lawrencetown beach, where we obtained some rocks of varying colours to line said flower bed. Ian of course headed straight for the water. He didn't care that the water was about 80 below. I hauled him out toot sweet and dried him off. Luckily, I remembered the diapers this time. I did not, however, remember a pair of replacement shoes, and so when we stopped at petes to get some supper I had to take my barefoot baby into the store like some kind of hillbilly. Alack!
Before we went to the beach that day, I turned Ian's car seat around. He giggled for 5 minutes straight when he realised he could see us! It was awesome!
Well, like I said, it was a great weekend, sunny and warm both days. Travis and I ate Eggs Benedict on the back deck for mothers day, and it was basically perfect. However, Monday soon came and with it, the rain. Alas and Alack!
Ian also has a new cousin, Lillian! She is very beautiful, and I will obtain pictures ASAP. Her birthday is April 24, one month before Ian. I spent a great deal of March and April completing a cross stitch for her, which is also part of the reason I have been so reclusive regarding this blog. But I have enclosed a picture of that as well as some details, and I am also including a couple pictures of our Easter eggs as well. I also have pics of Ian's first spaghetti meal, but I think that if a picture speaks louder than words, than a loud wordy picture speaks the most of all, and therefore I am updating my video shortly as well! So until the next time (however long that may be) I hope you enjoy!
